The Work Today
At Quinta do Noval, the Technical Director’s job is to keep parcel and plot distinct in the final wine. With Carlos Agrellos in that role, the emphasis stays on coaxing out character rather than flattening differences into a single profile. The vineyard is treated as a set of individual voices, and the work is to understand how each one fits the whole without losing its own shape. That approach gives the wines their structure, their nuance, and their sense of origin.

Carlos Agrellos is closely associated with Quinta do Noval Nacional Vintage, Nacional, and Quinta do Noval Vinhas da Marka. Quinta do Noval Vinhas da Marka, in 2019, is described as a fine, profound and powerful red wine with complex aromatics that develop in the glass, harmonious, fresh, balanced and elegant.
