David Vitale is the founder of Starward, the Melbourne whisky brand launched in 2007 to create a distinctly Australian whisky matured in local wine casks. him is the founder, and later reporting says he reacquired full ownership of the brand in 2026 after previously stepping back from day-to-day leadership.
