i. Biography
Denis Uteau is the Cellar Master (Maître de Chai) at Château Giscours, an 1855 Troisième Grand Cru Classé estate in Labarde within the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux. He initially joined Château Giscours in 2000 as a tractor driver before transitioning to cellar work in 2001 and being promoted to Cellar Master in 2008. In this role, he oversees parcel-by-parcel vinifications, gentle extractions, and barrel aging across the estate's wine portfolio.
