Eleni Vocoret

The Climb

Since 2012, Eleni Vocoret has been co-founder and winemaker of Domaine Eleni & Edouard Vocoret. The title is brief; the work is not. It means long days, hard seasons, and the exacting rhythm of Chablis, where each pass through the vines and each decision in the cellar can matter as much as the weather itself. In 2010, she moved to Chablis and entered a world that would become her own. At the time, she was “not a big fan of Chardonnay,” which gives the path a useful clarity: she came in without the usual script, and built the role through exposure, repetition, and observation rather than assumption.

Today

Her own words point to how exposed vineyard work can be. “In 2016 we can only be happy, we have a little more than half a harvest. In 2015 all our parcels were hailed 7 days before we planned to harvest — and the hail arrived at 2am!” It reads like a field note because that is what it is: a record of weather, timing, and what remains when nature has already taken its share. In years like that, the work is less about control than about response — what can still be gathered, what can still be saved, and what it takes to keep going.

Signature

Eleni's signature dishes include Chablis Les Pargues, Chablis 1er Butteaux, Chablis Forest 1er Cru, and Chablis Chatains. Taken together, those cuvées show a clear Chablis register: site-led wines with the structure and restraint expected from the appellation, each tied to its own parcel identity while remaining part of Domaine Eleni & Edouard Vocoret.
