Frédéric Boutin is the owner and winemaker of Domaine La Boutinière in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a family estate founded by Félix Vidal. The estate says he took over the vines in 1997 and has since steered production with a focus on respecting tradition; third-party wine references also describe him as a fourth-generation grower at the property.
