i. Biography
Before Gérard Jacumin measured a vintage against weather and season, he measured time in finance. He worked in Paris until 1989, and that background brought an exacting discipline to wine when he returned to the family estate and moved into the trade with the same habit of calculation that had shaped his earlier work.
Coming Up
The practical foundation of Gérard Jacumin’s wine work was set at Domaine Saint Benoit in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where he served as co-founder and co-runner from 1989–2007. That span gave him time in both vineyard and cellar, and the work there established a style that holds structure and instinct in the same frame, with patience kept close to precision. In 2007, that experience carried into Domaine L'Or de Line, which Gérard founded and has co-directed since then. His work also extended into trade Through Osmose Vins, where he became manager of wine trading activity. Between production and commerce, his career has stayed anchored in the same discipline: making wine on one side, placing it in the market on the other.
Where They Are Now
At Domaine L'Or de Line, Gérard worked alongside Paule Jacumin, maintaining the continuity of a family-linked estate through shared direction. Through Osmose Vins, he also continued marketing wines made by other winegrowers, keeping his work tied to the broader day-to-day circulation of wine as a traded product. The through-line is steady oversight: land managed, relationships maintained, and bottles moved with care.
