The Path
Lorena Garcia trained at Santa Maria University and Johnson & Wales University before working as an apprentice chef at the Ritz-Carlton in Paris, France. From there, she moved into ownership and founding roles at Food Café in Miami Design District, Miami (2002–2008), and Elements Tierra in Miami Design District, Miami (2002–2008), building a record that ties formal training to restaurant operations.
The Work Today
Since 2017, CHICA in Las Vegas has been part of Garcia’s current work. In 2022, Lorena Garcia was listed as founder and chef of Chica Restaurants, keeping the brand work aligned with her role in the dining room and the business side.
