Pierre Larmandier

Pierre Larmandier has farmed Larmandier-Bernier with his wife Sophie since 1988. Raised among the vineyards and cellars of Vertus, he studied at Audencia before returning to the family estate after his father's death. The domaine says he eliminated herbicides in 1992, converted the entire estate to biodynamics, and from 1999 relied on indigenous yeasts for fermentation. Together with Sophie and their sons, he farms Côte des Blancs vineyards parcel by parcel and makes Champagnes intended to express their individual terroirs.
