The Path
The cellar at Domaine Rémi Jobard in Meursault, France, trained Rémi Jobard from the inside out. Working alongside his father Charles from 1991, he entered the estate’s daily rhythm early, learning how the house speaks before taking over vinification of the whites in 1992 and the reds in 1997. That sequence matters: it shows a gradual transfer of responsibility, built on repeated tasting, observation, and adjustment rather than sudden change. Today, Rémi Jobard is winemaker at Domaine Rémi Jobard.
The Work Today
At Domaine Rémi Jobard in Meursault, the work under Rémi Jobard is measured and exacting, with attention split between vineyard cadence and cellar decisions. Meursault remains the clear focus, and the wines are built for precision without hard edges, perfume without excess, and a structure that carries a long finish. When he says, "It’s the most “typical” Meursault in my cellar," the point is not slogan but method: typicity treated as a working standard, not a label.
Signature
Rémi Jobard’s signature dishes include Meursault Sous la Velle, Les Chevalières, Poruzots, Genevrières, and Charmes. Taken together, they mark out a Meursault-centered cellar, where variation between site names is part of the work and nuance carries as much weight as breadth.
In Their Words “It’s the most “typical” Meursault in my cellar.” “The wines will be very open young.”
Acclaim
He has said, "2006 is a year that’s flattering, I believe." He has also said, "The wines will be very open young." Those comments align with the style : wines defined by tension, layered aromatic complexity, and a gastronomic profile, but also by early openness and a direct fit at the table.
