Eric Gestel

Eric Gestel is the executive chef at Le Bernardin in Midtown Manhattan, where he has worked for more than two decades and manages the kitchen day to day. He was promoted in 2019 after previously serving as chef de cuisine and earlier rising through the ranks at the restaurant; reports describe him as Eric Ripert’s longtime second in command. Born in Martinique in 1968, Gestel is also identified in French reporting as a chevalier of the Ordre du Mérite Agricole.
