i. Biography

Jonathan Yao is the chef and co-owner of Kato, a Michelin-starred restaurant located in Los Angeles, California. Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley to Taiwanese immigrant parents, he opened Kato in 2016 before relocating it to ROW DTLA. Yao won the James Beard Award for Best Chef: California.
