i. Biography
Olivier Berrouet is the winemaker at Château Pétrus in Pomerol, Bordeaux, succeeding his father Jean-Claude Berrouet in 2008 at age 29 after training at Château Cheval Blanc, Château Haut-Brion, and Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. He holds a viticultural degree from Toulouse and an oenology qualification from Bordeaux, with additional experience at Château Margaux, Rémy Martin in Cognac, an industrial vineyard in Australia, and Silver Oak Cellars in Napa. Berrouet emphasizes interpreting the terroir with minimal intervention, as demonstrated in vintages like 2011 and 2012.
