Alexana Cabrera

Alexana Cabrera is the chef de cuisine at Mixtli in San Antonio, Texas, a role she has held since 2022 after advancing through the restaurant’s kitchen ranks. Born and raised in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, she moved to San Antonio at 18 to attend the Culinary Institute of America and later trained in restaurants in San Antonio and Belgium. She has also been recognized for helping lead Mixtli’s Michelin-starred team and for placing second in an international truffle competition in Soria, Spain in 2017.
